Human smuggling ring busted
Comments 0 | Recommend 0FORT PIERCE -- Nine people have been arrested for operating a human smuggling ring from the Treasure Coast.
The men, from Port St. Lucie, West Palm Beach, and Miami are all charged with alien smuggling for profit.
According to court documents, the trips to Cuba were made on a 35-foot white boat.
Last summer agents spotted members of the this group meeting in Port St. Lucie and traveling to Sandsprit Park in Stuart.
A few days later their boat was spotted in Miami, and then Marathon Key.
Agents believe this was just one of many trips.
The case is now in the hands of the State Attorney's office.
