18-year-old injured in crash in critical condition

BOYNTON BEACH -- An 18-year-old motorcyclist remains in critical condition at Delray Medical Center after a Monday night traffic accident on North Congress Avenue, investigators said.

Shane Workman, of Boynton Beach, was headed Southbound in the 2300 block of North Congress Avenue when an SUV made a U-turn into his path and struck him. Workman was thrown from the motorcycle.

The SUV's driver, Michael Frank, fled the scene but was subsequently stopped by officers at 1000 N. Congress Avenue. Frank, 22, of Lighthouse Point was not injured, investigators said.

Charges are pending.
