Comments 0 | Recommend 0

You might think saving money takes lots of hard work, but there are some shortcuts you can take to stay on budget.  Chef David Pantone with the Florida Culinary Institute shows us how breakfast can be just as good at dinner time.

Ham Steak with Cheesy Scrambled Eggs

1 Thick cut, fully cooked, ham steak

2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons oil

8 eggs

¼ cup milk

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon chopped chives (optional)

Preheat on medium heat a large, nonstick skillet. Add water and ham. Gently heat for three minutes on each side. Remove ham from skillet and place on large plate or platter. Keep warm. Discard the water from the pan. Dry the pan. Add oil to pan and heat to medium high. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and cheese. Pour eggs into hot pan and stir constantly until eggs are scrambled and cooked to your liking. (Please don't overcook!) Slide eggs out of skillet and on top of the ham. Sprinkle with some chives.
