Drunk driving dramatization
Drinking and driving is a deadly mix, and Thursday some local high school students saw first hand the consequences.
It was just a dramatization, a fake crime scene, fake blood. All put on by John Carroll high school students, SADD, and the St. Lucie County Sheriff's department.
Students saw two cars destroyed. One student driving drunk slammed into another, several peers were killed in the accident. High schoolers watched as they were arrested, and they saw what happens when you choose to drink and drive. Sheriff Ken Mascara says, "We want to make this as real as possible to show them what actually happens and the end consequences of their decision making."
The Sheriff's department thought this message was timely, considering Prom for John Carroll students is this Saturday.
