Thousands line up for H1N1 shots in St. Lucie County
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Thousands of people line up in our area to get the H1N1 vaccine shot. In fact, so many people turned out for free shots in St. Lucie County, the health department ran out in just four hours. The shots were being given at the St. Lucie County Logistics Center on U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce. Health officials tell us people were lining up at midnight to get the vaccine and about 1,000 people were there before the doors even opened. In fact, there was a line all the way around the building. By noon, all 2,500 shots were given out. Since these were free shots, they are only available to pregnant women, small children and people with complications like asthma who cannot get the nasal spray.
If you missed out, the next day to get free vaccinations in St. Lucie County is November 7th.
