Congressman-Elect Tom Rooney hands out coveted Inauguration tickets to kids
The hottest tickets in town for an entire school.
Congressman-Elect Tom Rooney in Stuart Thursday to hand out 47 tickets to the Inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama in Washington DC.
The much-sought-after tickets are going to students at Walden Academy Private School in Stuart. They were the first school to request tickets to the inauguration.
Rooney told students this election was about dreaming big and that starts at a young age. Rooney says, "You all have opportunities in life and you have to take them. You can't let anybody tell you you can't be what you want to be. If you would have told me when I was your age I would be a Congressman I would have said, "You are crazy."
Students also grilled the Congressman-elect on everything from the GM bailout to global warming. Walden Academy students hired a tour company to get to DC. Parents are funding the entire historic trip.
The Inauguration is January 20th.
