Damon Weaver denied press credentials

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

He may have been denied press credentials, but a Canal Point 5th grader and aspiring reporter is not giving up on his goal to interview Barack Obama.

"You're never too young to be a reporter because only adults are not the only ones who can do it. Everybody has the opportunity to do it," said 10 year old, Damon Weaver.

He's already raised enough money to go to the Presidential Inauguration in Washington D.C.

However, CBS12 is now learning that Damon has been denied media credentials. Damon's teacher is still holding out hope that he can score an interview with Obama, but if all else fails he says just being at the inauguration is an experience in itself.

Damon now has his own fan club on Facebook called "Let Damon Weaver Interview Barack Obama." To check it out, click here.
