High School Sports

CBS 12 sports team has always taken a great deal of pride in showing the best high school highlights each night with our "Hometown Highlights" segment. Sports director Pat Murphy and his team cover all the major sports that are played by the athletes in our area. Plus, we have expanded our prep coverage to include flag football, soccer, weight lifting and wrestling to the mix. Through the years to have been able to showcase many athletes who've gone onto greatness in professional sports. For example, North Shore star Derek Harper went on to play in the NBA. Glades Central grads Fred Taylor and Santonio Holmes play in the NFL as does former Pahokee star Anquan Boldin. Mark Calcavecchia has enjoyed a brilliant career on the PGA tour, while Morgan Pressel and Michele McGann have won tournaments on the LPGA tour. Major league baseball has several athletes that were showcased including Palm Beach Gardens high grad Chris Volstad.
